Thanks Bro! I tried a BUNCH of them before settling on this one.
It plays nice. Just got it together.
It will take me awhile to get the KICK right. I'm not that good with my right foot.
But I will start recording with it right away (just simple stuff then getting harder as I go).
The chokeable crash is cool. you can reach up and grab it to stop the ringing... like on a real one.
The first thing that will improve a ton with this is DYNAMICS. it responds well to how hard you hit (which is a hard
thing to program in when you are drawing drum notes).

omg!!!!!! that's great, z!!! can it be stored a certain way, or is it stationary? maybe that's a silly question...but i'd love to get a set too, but am tight on space. so you go the best one...i can't wait to hear what you can do whaling on those drum pads!! make a video, once you've got it down : )) ! i recommend listening to some good tribal house before getting started...well it is inspiring to me anyway. 4 to the floor baby, kick snare kick snare kick snare kick snare and rum pum pum pum around the world he goes...

It takes awhile to set up, but you can kind of fold it up. everything is adjustable in many ways.
I will practice until I'm good.... but I will probably upload some easy / slow stuff first.

Re: Drums
Bashing around on the kit. Nothing fancy.
The kit has 50 drum kits in it. This is the first one. It's called "Universal." Recorded line out into the mixer.
There are also 30 spots for user defined kits.
I didn't use all the sounds in the kit. I think I left out the other 2 snare sounds (hitting the edge on one side is like a stick hit,
and the other side is a different sound -- like a cowbell, depending on the kit).
I'm decent at certain things. But if my foot isn't synchronized with one of my hands I suck.
Also the hi-hat pedal is tough for me. Haven't quite got the kick pedal where I want it. The gap between the pad
and the beater is too big, and the pedal isn't at a steep enough angle.

Re: Drums
Not bad for a first go.....practise will make it work for you....these things take time and effort
Sounds good Z ......when you record it though I think it will need a touch of reverb...it sounds a little dry.
A good Room or Hall reverb used in moderation brings drums to life....but not too much or it gets muddy.

Re: Drums
Should help a TON in that you will 'know" the beat, because you played it, and wrote it...So you will find it easy to add guitars and bass. Its "your" beat, one you "know".

Re: Drums
Thanks guys! Yeah it's going to take practice....
I agree about the reverb. Some of the kits have reverb on them (Big Room Kit),
and some are dry. But I can always add 'verb in Logic.
And you're right Dace about "the beat." I think it's going to change my sound since
I will feel the groove better.
It's a whole new thing. And it's kind of Zen to just sit there and bash away.
