"Flated" black Super Strat #2
Done like the Lotus, But red gaurd, Black pup, Red-Q-knob..
I had to paint this body also. It looked REAL crappy...I Flated the paint after. by steel-wooling it down by hand. Its super SMOOTH, and VERY pretty. LOVE thr Flated-look.
Guitar sounds AWESOME thru the Marshall.
Really like how the paint came out.
Guitar feels great while playing.
Dont have much in this, so, My price will be like, $160.00
Pretty...

Absolutely!
Looks gorgeous!
Great ideas doing non-traditional colors and mixes.
That's what people want.
"One of a kind" and "eye-catching" make it worth more.
Nice work!
Hell, show people pictures of your work and you might get some business
doing basic paint-jobs and setup work on guitars people already own.

Well, its tricky to do this stuff with little or no money.
But thats making me think out the jobs better.
I can to get in them, over what they will bring pawning.
Painting is ONLY if "have to" thing with me. I have painted SO many in the past, not interested in that much.
I feel i get a great look by just cleaning a body as good as i can, then adding new parts to it.
i get the new and old vibe at the same time.
The way i came across the "flating" idea was while sanding it down after coats, it looked SO cool, and nice, so i went with it.
Anyway..This is not high-end guitar, but NOW looks and plays FAB!
Dont know that i can go any cheaper on a guitar. And dont want to sell cheap guitars.
But need a few around i guess, as the "come"...Handy to pawn if i need to.
Might add some nice keys to this one, and get the price up to 200.00 on it.
might not??? Thats the great thing here, If one dont sell, i can carry on adding to it. Brings its worth up nice.

Re: "Flated" black Super Strat #2
That's kind of what I'm saying, is that there are a lot of types of Guitar "Buyers"
There's people looking for vintage / unmodified / high-buck gear -- not your market
And there's a TON of people looking for "A COOL GUITAR" -- this IS your market
Usually when they get a cheap cool looking guitar, they realize it's setup for shit, and doesn't play that good.
That's where you come in. Your guitars will look GREAT and play really nicely too.
It doesn't matter to these people if it's a cheap body underneath or whatever.
They want a $200 guitar that looks and plays like a $500 guitar.
You are right that you will have to build up your stock slowly....

DACE.....Just a couple of questions as I am curious
Do you need to put anything on that paint finish to seal it like clear varnish? If not how will it stand up against wear and tear and knocks?
Also I notice just one knob for volume....No Tone control ?
Just curious DACE....you're the expert

Re: "Flated" black Super Strat #2
Its an EVH type thing Peter...Just Vol...And a Killswitch later.
Its a NO frills type guitar.
FENDER make the SAME thing in the Bullet-line of Squire guitars, just Vol.
And Nope, nothing on the paint, as with hand rubed wood guitars.
Main thing on this one, VERY cheap guitar. But clear is NOT need on guitars if one takes care of them. Some people like to not worry about chiping there guitar, Heres one for those type people. Its a PLAYER guitar for sure!
(A better built guitar, would NOT need painted), just cleaned. So, i keep with the better built ones, im good. Cheap ones here and there.
Clear chips as easy as paint really. This is one you just play. Can always repaint later..as i say. "Cheap-Guitar", not worth anymore than has been done to it.
The Blue one is higher grade, but still not much needs to be put into that one either.
You have to go Guitar-By-Guitar, Case by case with this stuff. The Guitar tells ya what and how much to do to it.
Its all pretty simple..Buy LOW, sell Highest you can. (work them ALL you can) within reason for each guitar.
Blue one i cleaned, did fret-job.
This one painted, pickgaurd, knob, setup.
BC Rich, white rings and knobs (Sold).
Each guitar is different in work, and WHY....Has to be a "reason" for upgrades.
Anyway....Its just FUN stuff to do. money??? whatever, whenever, not as important as enjoying the ride.

Re: "Flated" black Super Strat #2
Its one great look Rick...Really looks more than it is.
Put the Black Pickguard screws on it today..
These price guitars are better for Public sale. More than 200.00, better to sell online to people that have some money. Wont be many high end guitars in our Public store, but i WILL have a notebook with them listed in, with pix..
Might bring one or two each weekend, higher-end stuff, and just bring them home each week.
Anyway...FUN stuff...
