I've decided NOT to send the book to a
publisher!

Two reasons:

1. I don't want to wait a YEAR for it to come out.
2. I want to use Steve's art for the cover.

So, I am going to publish it on Amazon in less
than a week.

And you will get paid for the cover art Steve!
(not a lot, but some up front and some for
how many copies I sell)

Pretty excited!!!!

Paid?? You don't have to pay me Z! (on second thoughts, if you shift a million copies, we could both retire early!!) LOL

OK! is the artwork exactly as you want it? Do you want any changes? If all is OK then I can send you a hi-res version (in case you need to print an actual cover) Just let me know and I'll sort it.

I think it's great, but let me see how
it looks with lettering.

Since the cover does make people want
to read it, you deserve a little something
if it does well....

OK Z. If you need more room for the lettering or any repositioning/resizing of Larissya or the tower, just let me know as it's not a difficult job alter these things. I have a higher res version which has a slightly better colour to it. I'll send it to you tomorrow evening (GMT) as my Graphics PC is switched off right now and it's getting close to bedtime. I'll keep it below 10Mb and send it to your work e-mail if that's OK.

Sounds perfect!

I might want a version where the crystal is kind of egg-shaped on top and flat on the bottom and glowing green,
but frankly I like the way your crystal looks better!

And I might need you to move the castle toward Larissya. The Larissya side is perfect, but book covers tend to
be taller than they are wide, and if I just chop it, the castle will get chopped off.

I will mess around with lettering tonight and see how it looks and email you a sample.

When I first did the image I did it for a hard copy paperback. Larissya on the front and the tower on the back, thats why it is the size it is. The aspect ratio should fit a paperback when printed, but if all you need is a front cover image I can re-render it in portrait format so Larissya and the tower are on the same page

Yes, I only need the front cover for Kindle.

It will be up for sale by the end of the week. And once other people see the art,
they might want you to do some for them too.... I'll give you credit on the acknowledgements page
