The Neverending Story

Finally, I am within about 3 hours of work of being DONE with my novel.

It is currently about 500 pages (word doc / manuscript format), which would be about 250 pages
if it were printed as a paperback (single-spaced). 91,000 words or so.

Whew!
I will finish it this weekend and send it to the 7 or 8 test-readers I have lined up.

It’s dark, and full of action, swords, and magic. It will be interesting to see what the readers think.
And if they spot any glaring mistakes….

Hard to believe I’m actually going to be done with it.
What a crapload of work.

Next time I will write a simple one. This one’s so complicated it’s hard to keep it all straight.

George Strezov (if you know him?) read the first couple of chapters a few years ago when I posted them
on another site. And he wrote a classical piece based on them. It was AWESOME! I think I still have it
somewhere....

3 out of about 9 test readers have finished the novel.
All of them liked it and gave me good feedback on small things to fix.
One of them (Kim) gave me a rating of 4.8 out of 5 (she read it on her Kindle).

I am almost done writing the Synopsis, and making some more minor fixes.
Then I can send it in (probably to Tor Books first).

It looks like I will basically have to send a synopsis or query letter and the first 3 chapters.
It depends on the publisher.

If all goes well, I should find someone to publish it this year.

When do you need the cover art Z? Is what I sent you on the right lines?

The book is awesome! surprised all your proof readers haven't finished it yet! I couldn't put it down once I'd started it!!! LOL

I didn't see what you sent me? I must have missed it.

No hurry. Not sure how these publishers work, but they don't need anything except a synopsis and
the first three chapters to start with. And it takes them a LONG time to process and decide if they
want to publish it (since they get thousands of submissions). It will probably be 4 to 6 months before
I hear back from them.

Even then I'm not sure they will let me send them cover art.
But I still want to see what you come up with!
There's always a chance the book publishers won't be interested and I will have to publish it on Amazon.
In that case I'll use your art for sure!
