That's what I'm talking about!

Really cool. The synth swells and sweeps add a cool mood and texture.
Sounds bit more like Floyd now.

Thanks Z....Dace asked me to add keys just to see what it would sound like.

There are 2 parts .....a deep phased pad creating atmosphere and I jammed some lead amongst the guitars.

Used lots of reverb and stereo echo to get a nice spacy feel to it.

Quite like it and I learned a few useful things along the way.....Cool

Enjoyed doing it....not a lot of space as it was already a busy track but it worked out fine.

First time I've tried jamming some lead synth around lead guitar patterns but Jan Hammer used to do it with Jeff Beck that way so I thought it would work....and it's cool...so I learned something from it.

Hope you liked the new title .....if not you can change it.

Some times when we think a song is to busy, it really not and it in need of something to smooth out the flow so it can be heard right. Not a busy track as far as I go. Really i felt it needed some adds. And i thought of you right off Peter.

You did right to play along lead-wise Peter. It sounds wonderful to me now.

I have only 3 or 4 people that would even think about doing music with me.
And thats cool i guess....I get to do some tunes with people here and there, and thats all i want to do really. I allways feel i let people down with collabs.

Holy hell, I still get chills every time I listen to our very first collab (Angel of Mercy) or SYNLM
(and many others).

We need to do it again. But I am waiting for an idea to come to me about what....
Your solo stuff is sounding so great to me right now I don't want to interrupt.

You and Peter do sound so great in this. It's just fresh and unexplored.

AND ITS HOW YOU "DO IT" PEOPLE!

ANYBODY CAN "MAKE" MUSIC! (Set-rules,easy stuff).

FEW CAN "PLAY" MUSIC!

ALL "PLAYERS" HERE.... (at FOS)..

Its I have to keep telling them to not "make" music....

Its SO easy to get excited over the "makings" of music...(try not to)
MOST important that is AFTER the fact, (recording done).
NOT before, on while playing.
(im speaking as a "player" here)
The recorder only records, and smooths out what you "PLAY".
You "play" and record, until you hear "music", BAMB! you just "made" music!
You study that, and "play" again later.

Peter is SO much a "player"...But also he can "make" music. (and nice music).
But, (as a "player") his PLAYING outshines the great "made" music he has.
Peter knows TONS about music and how to make it.
But, Peter (as a "player") Zooms past all that "knowing" of.
Really, Think Peter is just now seeing that in himself.
I hear him "playing" EVERYTHING now.....And its AWESOME!

Im talking about every insterment Peter plays also...Guitar the most.

This tune is now MAGIC! " we are just playing around"....What EVERY Artist (should) be doing. Just playing around, making magic..

Easy if ya see it that way. HARD to see it tho........

As you know I kind of do both.

I have a "structure" underneath that has some planning. But that structure is put together in a "playful way."
Yes, I am drawing notes and dragging stuff around and such. But that is still "play."
The multi-track sequencer is an instrument too. And you use your fingers. It's just a different kind of "playing."

Then, on top of that, I just play. All my guitar parts are made up on the spot. (but I do them over sometimes until
it sounds like it does in my head).

I didn't use to play that way on guitar (Pre-Dace).

Now I do.

I'm more than happy to warm up the synths and put the guitar away somtimes because I like playing both.....Hell...I just love making music

Yes I play the music much more now and that came from getting back to using guitars because the way I play a guitar is physical and expressive.....like the old Blues players.

When I use synths and keys now I try to use the same principle and play it in live .......if I can do it without sequencers then that's what I will do.

Mainly I only use a sequencer where I have to and that is mostly for drum parts which is the framework for playing around.

I intend to use bass guitar on my next Darkstarcruiser tracks .....and that will be improv bass....I have been practising

Yes.....the FLOW....thats what makes it work.

When you do this type of track as a player you have to find that FLOW and let it take you to wherever.
Thats something you can't plan and you have to learn it.....but most of all you have to FEEL it
