Love the 3rd one and the last 2!!!
AWESOME Guitars!

We have similar taste -- always wanted a Gibson Flying V and a Les Paul.

When I was in college, I had my first Electric -- a Peavey T-25, and a friend of mine
bought a white Les Paul (he paid over $1000 for it).

I was instantly twice as fast, just by picking it up. Cool

LOL......I read somewhere back in the 80's that playing a Les Paul made you sound better. Due to the huge amount of tone I kind of believe that's true.

My first proper guitar was a Fender Telecaster and I soon found out that a Tele will show every little error when you record it. If you bend a note slightly too far it kind of screams out at you if you play a Tele.....I'm sure you know that from experience.

Humbuckers are much more forgiving but single coils have their own unique charm.

Thats why we have several guitars.....so that we can pick out what we need when we need them.

You can't beat a Les Paul for massive power chords. The V is good too but it has less density.

I was inspired to get a V by my love of Wishbone Ash.....Andy Powell always used one on the early stuff and Ted Turner usually complimented it with either a Strat or a Gibson with P90's which are single coils.

I was inspired to buy the Jaguar because it came my way....I played it....and I couldn't resist it...end of story !!!!!

The Les Paul came from my love of the Blues....particularly Clapton and Peter Green.

Of course there is a whole list of guitars that I would love to add to my collection if I could afford them but what I have covers most of my needs.

The Jaguar is more versatile than a Strat. Apparently the pickups are pretty much the same as a Strat of the same vintage but the circuit wiring is different which has an effect.

I read that because many people have said that the Jag is to bright and trebley that you need to roll the tone on the guitar all the way down and slowly bring it up until you hit the right sound.....then it sounds more like a Strat. With the tone all the way up on the Bridge PUP it is very much like a Tele.
The 2 PUPS together have that classic twangy surf sound.....but the Neck PU is the most powerful and is so sweet.....like a Strat but a bit more density.
If you use the upper circuit switch .....which is neck PU only but on a different circuit ...it is very dark and a bit muddy.

You can get lots of sounds from these guitars....and when you factor in the range of modelling and effects that you get today you can keep finding nice new combinations.

Very cool info.

And I hear you about all the different sounds you can get out of the Jag.

My Strat is kind of like that, because there is a secret switch in the top of the volume control.
So I have the 5-way selector switch (like a normal strat), and then if you push the secret button
(which I usually don't) I think it uses the single coils together more like humbuckers (thicker and
warmer sounds on the 5-way).

Definitely Lucky. Or maybe just black magic. Cool
I know it when I touch the guitar. I don't even have to play one to know it.
(But I play them to make sure).

I've made a few bad picks over the years.... but usually only when I don't get to touch them first.
