Z Drum Machine Jam
it's completely improv, so pardon the fumble-fingers...
and the drum beat is the same all the way through because I just got this Alesis thing
and I haven't read the manual...
a little hawkwind touch at the end....

Re: Z Drum Machine Jam
hey that's pretty cool. i have beat tracks on my synth but i do the builds and axcents myself with my fingers on the pads. i should do a vid playing too. you'd think i have 4 arms the way i can play with 2 hands and master the drum pads all at the same time lol.
Re: Z Drum Machine Jam
i'm not perfect though...i'm a deer in headlites when the camera is recording. <

Re: Z Drum Machine Jam
Good guitar work out Z.
Improv suits you and gives a nice free flowing sound with much more colour and variation.
The drum sounds themself are good but that single loop running all the time would not be cool on a finished track.
If you can get midi out of your computer to drive the drum machine then you can write your own patterns in Logic using the drum sounds from the Alesis. Thats how I do my drums from my Roland JV1080 writing basic patterns enhanced by fills , additional percussion and accents or volume changes.
If you cant get midi out (you need a midi interface) then you could record the Alesis patterns into audio loops and then re arrange them in Logic.
I'm sure that you have probably worked all this out for yourself already but if you want to knw more about the midi route I can help

Thanks! Yeah, I was just experimenting.
I read the manual, and it's dead easy to put the patterns together into a big song.
The drum machine is only really for jamming live anyway. And I might use midi in
so I can change loops with my foot or something.
It's rare for me to play without recording in Logic at the same time, so I figured I should do that
from time to time. And I wanted Dace to see the Telecaster in action. I'm not so good with necks
that aren't 24 frets.... my fingers are used to the Ibanez.

Re: Z Drum Machine Jam
i wish i could program drums on my synth, but i have yet to find anyone that knows how. i was sure that you could. there are premade beat tracks...tons. you can add your own axcents and fills though. and switch to chord change option to auto ajust the bass and that as you play...well it's old, i got it when i was 15 from my dad for my b-day. casio ctk-611. it's prob the best casio that was made...well, in my oppinion.
Re: Z Drum Machine Jam
Im the other way around Z...24s i dont like much, my fingers never hit right. ONLY on your Ibanez do they fall right...Im going to stay with 22, and 21s.
On another not, trading in the truck on something eles this week..Then i can get over to Dalton a get my Red-Strat... its 21 frets. Black one is 22.
Get my Ibanez back in a few months.
Im gona be VERY short on cash, but im getting my F'ing guitar anyway!
WILL be overdrawn to the bank this month, but screw it!
