Winner winner chicken dinner

I did it! 50 thousand words in one month. Ok, 29 days actually. Crossed the word count goal last night. Now the ending chapter remains to be written, but I have it already firmly planned. Then I'll take a break from it for a few days and start editing it. I couldn't resist editing a bit as I went, but it's primarily in first draft. So in reality the novel is a ways from being ready to publish, ok a long ways. But I did a first draft of a novel in thirty days starting from absolutely zippo. So I feel some measure of pride. Don't worry, once I get it finished all that warm fuzzy feeling will be replaced with paranoia and self loathing. It's trash, no one will read it, I'm trash. The normal cool stuff. But for now, I'm liking the book and feeling good about myself. Cue bubble bursting.....

First drafts are always like that. Let it rest. And you will see the good in it.

Thanks, Z. I hope your right. I know I need to step away from it for at least a couple of weeks before I try a rewrite.
