Johnny B. Goode
This is the band I played drums for and toured with in 1980, The Electric Cats.
This is our rendition of, Johnny B. Goode.
Lots of fast movement in this video...great to watch and listen with cats present too
It's electric and it's pretty catty... ^--^ meow
Peace,
Zest
Re: Johnny B. Goode
Hi Star4mation and Ed,
Thank you for enduring this ancient sound that was recorded on an Akai stereo cassette recorder. We even used 2 mics for the true stereophonic sound that was worth capturing for posterity
I was only playing drums for approximately 7 months (self taught) when I joined the Electric Cats with the road being our means of making a living.
Whilst was was only 17 in 1980 at the beginning of playing on the road throughout Ontario, Canada with the E-Cats. In the recording you hear in this "video" I had played for 10 months on the road. Though we are a seemingly tight musical band, the vocals were something to behold
Now, after this recording being re-discovered, I bring forth rock 'n roll in the "we actually get paid for this?" category. Yes, we were payed musicians with a regular gig circuit. From Toronto to Thunder Bay and points in between, I learned some valuable lessons that still are with me today. For, being in a traveling band was something I put my mind forth to do when I was 15. I played 7 to 8 hours a day to old records from the 1960's. (ahhhh I can hear the warmpth of those record grooves). I played in many bands over the years under different monikers. This band, my stage name was Torsten Jorgensen. I had a dream, followed my heart, and it always brings me back to music.
Thanks to any and all that listen, it may be a bit harsh to listen to for some, but then that means it's too loud and you're too old (just making excuses is all)
Star4mation, thank you for the kind compliments. It was a real throw together "video" that I had the means to do with some humour thrown in with the reality too
Ed, yep, sure did find the cat nip weren't we rockin' cats
Keep your eyes and ears peeled, there may be more where this came from....after all...I have a recording with about 15 songs of this performance from the world famous, Rockliffe Motel, Minden, Ontario, Canada. From Bowie to The Doors and The Monks...we covered a lot of ground....
Peace,
Zest

Very cool Zest!
You sound good on those skins.
I am still keeping it simple so far but the electric kits are nice for playing late at night.
