Cheers Z Skin is down to good hi-res texture maps and a good lighting set-up. Faces ain't so easy (there's a whole lot of morphs to set in a face!) Ginn has a relitively easy face do do manually. Hand poses are very time consuming as each finger has 3 movable joints and you got to set them all up to look natural.

3D rendering has come a long way even in the short time I've been doing it! Skin used to be pink or brown and made to look good by airbrushing in photoshop. These days a good skin comes from photographic reference shots of real people with added 3D depth using displacement and bump maps.
