Lucky Strike
Single owner. 2 years old. Barely touched. It looks new. Plays new.
Only marks on it are on the pick-guard and on the cover plate on the back.
Set neck (not bolt-on). Not sure what pickups are in it, but I will probably switch to P-90s of some type.
The trapezoid inlays look like they are just stickers on the rosewood fretboard, but they look real from a few feet away.
Sustain is real good.
The guy who sold it is into rockabilly and bluegrass and didn't like how close the bridge is to the saddle.
He prefers his Telecaster for the stuff he does.
It is made in China, but the workmanship on it is pretty darn nice. Neck and frets are finished better than
my Gibson Faded (Dace played that one -- it had crescent moon inlays on the neck and an ebony fretboard,
but the fret ends were sharp because it was a low-end Gibson).
Couple hundred bucks... so about 1/2 price from buying it new.

Pretty sure it's a G400, like this one:
http://gceguitars.blogspot.com/2010/04/epiphone-sg-g400-standard-2007.html
But the pickups are different than the ones in the pictures that guy has.
Might have to take them out and see what they are.
They are pretty thick and beefy sounding.

Thanks Rick!
I think I need to go to Craigslist Anonymous....
There is way too much on the music section that looks cool.... and I don't have to pay shipping (since I am looking locally).
Got my Marshall Amp that way too. Same thing. Barely used. Guy had to sell it for rent money or something.

Re: Lucky Strike
HELL..thinking about it, a CREAM pickgaurd would REALLY set off the RED, and look Fab if ya had Cream pups, with gold rings.
Yep...Ya want to bring out the RED, and make the hardware POP!.
Cream gaurd would be very nice looking.
Gold will give you a high-end-vintage look.
Cream, Classic look.

Re: Lucky Strike
Good ideas bro!
They make 'em....
http://accessories.musiciansfriend.com/product/Gibson-P90-Single-Coil-Pickup?sku=306915
I'm good, but I can't do anything about the SUNLIGHT!!!!
If the clouds go away I'll take more shots.
I love the one with the tree reflection on the body. You can also see the SG shape in the snow in the background
from where I took the previous shot.

Pickups first, with rings.
Then changing out the hardware.
Might take a month or two....
I love these set neck guitars. the Sustain is Insane in my Brain.

Re: Lucky Strike
WEEK TOPS...
You will need to get those pups in Reg-Hum-size or they wont fit.
P90s are smaller, as you know. But they DO make them in Hum-size.
And i dont know about the being "ring-mounted"????

Re: Lucky Strike
Not sure what you mean by "Shell Guards?"
Here's a look at the back of the pickups, and inside the control area.
Stock. According to stuff on the internet, the pickups are Alnico V Humbuckers (which looks right to me).
These will drop right in, but the cream one has silver trim.

Re: Lucky Strike
Easily remedied Z......put the screws back in without the pickguard.
Thats what I did with my Greco LP....thats only 2 screws...one on the front near the neck and one on the side.
Also you won't lose the screws if you do that
