Behind The Moon:

Yeah loving the heartbeat-kick sound, and how it ebbs and flows in volume.
That makes a great base for the synths.

The synths have good dynamic and movement.

I like the mood and changes. Lots of great use of dynamic range and different frequencies.

Love the Kodo drum or Tympani like sound too.

Complex mix. It works very well!!!!

Hi Ralf, top tunes mate! Love the synth track Behind the moon, simple but effective. Great mix of styles too on the other tracks, and I like your vocals too Smile
I'm sure the "Gearheads" will want a list of your guitars, amps and FX!!
Nice to have you onboard Smile

Ralf .....been through your songs and heres a few comments:

Behind The Moon

Great title....The mood starts off with an 808 drum kit which is supplemented by various percussion later. Great big pads with sweeping filters set the atmosphere and the whole thing has a nice mysterious feeling to it. Quite minimal but powerful track. Really enjoyed this and I could hear more going on the second time I played it. Super. Smile

Auckland City

Very Retro ......sounds like a 60's Garage track in style with clean guitars with an edge. Well done in that style.

Ghost Riders

Don't know if this was inspired by "Ghost Riders in The Sky" but the guitar has a similar feel at the start. The mysterious organ adds a different atmosphere . The beats bounce along nicely .....this track is definitely Retro and the style and playing is done well with all the parts mixing together nicely. Effects at the end are a nice touch.

Up To The Sky

Folky Rock song with a nice mix of guitars. The first slide guitar has a nice metallic tone to it. The use of Wah guitars and organ take this in a different direction followed by harmonica. Quite a unique approach.

25 minutes

Sounds like part of a long jam session....which is cool. Mainly built around the Drums and Bass guitar the drums set the pace ...quite tense...with some great fills to build it and break it up. Wah guitar is nice and there are lots of other guitar fills and little bit of keys too. Quite an atmosphere builds up as the track progresses and becomes more complex in places.

Your Audience

A nice mellow chilled out sound on this one. Guitars are blended nicely and the vocals are sung with feeling. Good emo song.

Overall this is a good mixture of different styles that demonstrate that not only are you an experienced musician but your work is in the creative mould rather than following the herd of artists that just copy the big names.

This is what FOS is all about......individual style....being yourself through your music.

You will fit in here very nicely Ralf....enjoyed listening Smile Smile Smile

Here's one I found on the web
