Gotham Studios 2011
Studio is cleaning up nicely.
Here are shots from tonight.
In this shot you can see: the PA / Mixer and the Tube PreAmp on the wicker table. I can reach it from the computer now.
The black 2-drawer cabinet is new. The top drawer is guitar stomp boxes and such, and the bottom drawer is cables.
And the X is by the 6, on an acoustic guitar stand. The Strat is in the case against the wall.
In this shot you can see the Tele, Marshall, GK bass amp, Killed By Death Bass Guitar, and one of the PA Speakers / stands.
In this shot you can see the other PA speaker, the Kawai K4 leaning against its stand, the Dean Flying V in its huge black case, and my favorite
vocal mic, the modified Octava MK-219.
This shot shows what's left of the mess that I still need to sort out. you can see the folding doors of the small closet to the right, and the door
leading into the heater room on the left. Also a strobe light peeking out of a bag.
In this shot you can see my computer monitor (computer is under the desk), and the Roland MA-8 monitors I use, with the Sennheiser HD280s
plugged into them. The monitor to the right is for the windows machine which is on that metal shelf unit (windows machine is currently down).
The metal shelf unit is full of crap too. I might clean it off and take it out of the room.

I will email you the pics then you can look at them whatever size you want.
I usually pick 800 when I upload -- I guess that is too wide for your monitor?
The mod on the mic I learned online. It's all about getting rid of unwanted resonance.
The stock mic has these black aluminum bands protecting the mesh screen. I cut those off.
You can kind of see it in this photo (look for the edges where I used diagonal cutters to clip the bands)
And then, on the inside, I took off these HF plates that I didn't like the sound of.
Now the mic is more fragile, but the frequency response is better. It basically turns a $99 mic into a $300 (sounding) mic.
And--better yet--almost no one else has one like it.
Here's what one looks like stock.
