A new Star4mation track (About bloody time I hear you say!!) LOL
Strange one this! Needs some more work doing to it, but as I've not recorded anything since releasing Goblins and Galaxies, I thought I'd share what I'm doing musicaly at the moment.

About Bloody Time too LOL .....Right !!!!! Merry Xmas Steve.

As it stands its an interesting Ambient soundscape.I've heard commercially released ambient tracks like this only instead of Alien voices they have used children in a playground or sounds in a busy train station....but your idea is just as relevant and more creative.

Only thing is the low volume.....it really needs a boost.....but musically its fine as it is or you could add more to it if you wanted.

I hear you about the volume thing, I didn't realise it was so quiet ( I had the volume up and my headphones on when I mixed it) I've just applied some Dynamic compression and saved it at 320kps instead of 128. It does sound better now

Reading Peters comment, tho iv not heard it...Do you (normalize) your tracks??? I just use (WaveStudio)...That will bring them up to the right Vol, or cut any peaks. Nigel taught me that years ago.....look in your program in the tool bar for (tasks) should have (normalize) just click it.. Wavelab or studio prog.

PS...check your soundcard setting also for vol. I have mine one down from full up. That gets you the most signal while recording. Be in your (PC setings), audio, hardware or something. theres one for playback, one for recording.

It's a new one Dace! Mixed on Christmas day. I did'nt Normalise, just dynamic compression to make it louder

Steve...You should still normalize (dynamic Comp) can give you clipping. Norm will bring those down. It work both ways. And allways do it last. After EQ, Comp, ect is ALL done, last thing Normalize. This will also keep all your tracks on Albums about the same loudness.

This is excellent, Steve! Love the use of the vocals, how they triger the mind. The ambience of the synths is powerfully done.

Thanks Ed Bit of an experiment really, I mixed 2 totally un-connected tracks together (the bubble synths were done months ago in an idle moment! I recorded them on the off chance that they might be useful one day! )

I know that one . I'm in the process now of laying down a bunch of short experiments that I hope will comprise a library of tools I can use in the future. I'm ever the optimist in theory at least. Your experiment gives me hope!
