FRACTAL DREAMING - New track at last

This is an all electronic track made using hardware synths.
FRACTAL DREAMING......its an experimental hybrid track......Psychedelic.

The synths are very much in the Goa/ Psytrance style but the bpm is much slower and I have used Rock style drums rather than the heavy kick used in Trance music.

So its a bit of a cross over style......my own sound really.

I used some creative mixing on this one and mastered it in Wide Stereo so grab your headphones for some extra experience.

Like the intro-bass...BPM is good. Not to slow, not to fast. Yep, it WIDE! love that Peter..Allways headphones with me online.

Super drum sound man....Its built simple but cool. Synths buildup very big and wide.
Its screaming for vocals.. IS dream like Peter...has that vibe and flow.

Production is very good, mixing perfect. Love the tones you get. You have a very cool style all you own. Im enjoying the ride man!

Some clean guitar would be great on this. But i know its not what your doing here.
But i hear vocals, and clean guitar fitting perfect with this.

Its 80bpm......Slow Rock style....I wrote all the drum parts some time ago but never got round to using them. It gives the track a kind of Trip Hop Feel.

All of the synth parts including the bass are from my Access Virus Synth.
Basically this track was an experiment in manipulating arpeggiated tracks from which I learned a few new tricks that will come in useful.
Its a very complex synth and the deeper you dive into it the more it rewards you.

I don't see vocals in there myself.....its far too busy (deliberately) but you could make space for guitar its true. Not what I wanted to do though as you realised.

I was just looking for a nice spacey synth track in a Psychedelic mood......which I think I managed

I think the kind of dancy rock drum kit works very well in this.
Quite different from your other songs, but I like it A LOT!

I will have to listen a few more times today and let it sink in....

Its a bit of a demo track to try out some ideas with arpeggiators and creative mixing.

I could have spent more time doing some layering to build it up and let it down again.....but it does work as it is OK.

With a bit of Rock guitar added it would then become more of a darkstarcruiser track intead of a GT electronic track .........its really a fusion of styles based on the psytrance feel of the synth lines.

I just hear YOU in it..I dont hear the mix of styles. Dont know anything about that stuff really. Its just GT music and sounds for me. Trance, Dance, electro, yes its in there i guess, but i dont hear that. Just hear you..

Thanks DACE..... I know what you mean.....you focus on the content and the feeling rather than try to categorise it.

The only reason I talk about styles is because it helps me to explain a little about what I had in mind when I make a track. Some people find it useful and some people don't need it.

The reality is that styles/genres are just a label so that people who are looking for music in a record store or online have a rough idea and can find things.

Really theres only two categories........Great music or Very Average/Poor music.......and thats all down to the listeners choice.

wow as it progreeses you won't believe how close it is to one of my nicky quick tunes from about 2008 when i first got reason 4.. gonna look to post it up here.. uncanny.. totally different instrumental sounds and concepts but coming together into an exactly matching kind of delay influenced bouncy dance beat theme and section.. no wonder i liked it so much!! lol.. yours is more advanced than mine which was more like a quick sound essay.. yours is the sound novel.. :-)

Thanks for looking in and listening Joe. This was all done with hardware synths and all of the synth parts come from my Access Virus and effects are hardware too built into my Yamaha AW2816 HD Audio Workstation. Drums are from a Roland JV1080.

Mastering and Wide Stereo mixing are done in the computer using Wavelab with various plugins.

After all these years of using synths I still find wonderful new things and ways of doing things the deeper I go.

Hope you post some more on here Joe....we all like your music and it will be most welcome.

Ha Ha.....I see what you mean Joe.
Although mine is much more complex it seems as if they are both rythmically dancing to the same beat
