I cant hold this back, so im telling you now in hopes it works out for the band effort.

The other night Stix, (fungus-drummer) brought up a guitarist he knows from Atlanta GA. They have been playing together off and on for 6 years.
His name is Chris. He is AWESOME! and has a style like mine but his own. He is more Jazz, im more blues sounding.
We recorded a Jam together with the Beckish track.
I will share this some time soon.
Im blown away by the dude, his playing, style, and tude.
I SO hope he feels the same and wants to be in the band.

You will just LOVE the track. We play SO well together. Its amazing to hear.
I have it in here now and im mixing it, getting it ready.
Its TO good to be true, so im NOT getting my hopes to high on this.
This dude is PERFECT for the band.

UPDATE: 17th.
Called Stix (drummer) to see what Chris thought, he was impressed and wants in on the FUNGUS Band..Smile
Im very happy to hear this...He is perfect.
Now we are seeking bass and keys..Smile I could play keys sing and do some leads, so just bass would be enuff. I could play bass i guess?
We are in NO hurry to put it together tho..might as well wait for the players. SO FAR its going fast and smooth, So..Smile

Steve...Thanks...Yes, for it being the first time we played together and a one-take thing, its just TO good..Smile
We blend very well together. But we did use the same guitar and settings, and i did not change or edit it in any way. It crazy good Jazz..Smile
The "beckish" track helps alot also because is such a great track to jam over.

You will groove on it Steve..Smile

Great news!

I might start playing out a little here.... just with an Alesis drum module
running through my bass amp and playing guitar through the Marshall.

I know some guys, but they are all in other bands (and bands that are very different
from what I do)

It would be cool to be able to come down there and just sit in on a session or two...

Yeah we are all so damn far away!

And that pesky speed-of-electrons problem means we can't just plug in
and play live from anywhere on the planet.

Would be cool if Peter could just sit in with the band from England! Have a picture of him
on a monitor and plug in a 3000 mile long cable Very Happy

Now there's a coincidence Peter, I used to work for STC, who made trans-Atlantic telephone cables (and a whole lot more) and later optical telecomunication networks! I'm still involved with opto-electronics and under-sea fiber-optics.

I've been thinking about the virtual band problem for a while....
But it always comes down to the speed-of-light.
You can't send data any faster than that, and then latency kills you.

So if you guys were jamming live with us, there would be about a:

4207 miles (between London and Atlanta)
Speed of light is 186282 miles per second
So for the signal coming out of your keyboard to reach here, it would take
about 1/44th of a second to get here. Which is 200 milliseconds.

And you would hear what we are playing 200 milliseconds late.

Which is pretty much enough to screw up the timing and make it unworkable....

If only we could shoot the audio and video data through a wormhole.....

"Quote" If only we could shoot the audio and video data through a wormhole.....

.....more chance of one of us winning the lottery and paying for a real get together to jam in person!!! Smile
