I have owned a few of these, and i must say there great for the money (NEW)...But AWESOME at used prices. I saw this one for $79.00 on ebay. I have seen these for around 100-125.00 in pawnshops. Around 50 to 60.00 bucks at fleamarkets. Dont know how you can beat that price. And you get alot for very little cash. NEVER found a broke one either. The speaker alone is worth the money. Built like a TANK! Roadworthy and LOUD!

OK...This is an Idea i have had for some time now, but have yet to go ahead to do it because of cachflow being SO low. This is a (Cheap-Stereo-Rig) Idea. These are 25 watts of AWESOME fender clean tone for soildstate amps! Very nice tone. There biger in size than you might might think, but still small amps. There $100.00 each, and you would need to buy 2 ofcourse. My ideas is to run my guitar into a POD and out stereo to these little babies. I know what one sounds like, so 2 in stereo must sound GREAT!
(RED ones are SO sweet looking)
I like a tight focused stereo sound. SO, best for that is to keep them about 3 to 6 foot apart from each other, and slightly turned inward.Good gear at great prices 61244410Good gear at great prices 61244410

Later on for an upgrade of about 125.00, one could install Celestion 10s at a higher wattage. This rig would be enuff for small gigs, and bigger gigs they mic your amp anyway, so would work great for live or in studio use.
I have seen a Line6 Flextone-2 for the same money, used, and thats what i would want first. But this would be second. But it can be found anytime, a flextone for 200 is rare. So this could very well be the Rig i go with first.

As far as a TUBE Amp, this is what has my interest at this time. I need to go play one soon. I like the low-wattage, and the brand, and the price is VERY good!
This is the one TUBE amp that has excited me over the last few years. Sounds like a great amp to me. I had a few old-champs and loved them. So, add FX and being there NEW, should be great sounding amps. HOW PRETTY! MAN!

Cool gear!

I have done that stereo out of a POD trick into 2 amps.
It's great when you are using CHORUS or PHASE.

LOL.....I don't even own an amp now.

Back in 1979 I had one of the first Peavy amps ......a Peavy Classic 50w which had a valve pre-amp.

It had a lovely bright sound ....like a Fender Twin ....but more overdrive.

Only thing is that it had a bad habit of blowing valves at the slightest surge of power....so I got rid.

I do everything processed direct into the mix now......but I have a Blackstar overdrive pedal that has a valve built in that sounds awesome..........you can hear it on Epsilon Endari - Darkstarcruiser supplying some heavy duty riffs.

Yes, same here for recording...I dont use an Amp..BUT, im looking to get back into PLAYING! recording is pointless at this time for me, other than it being what i want to do at set time. Its a DEAD END ROAD as far as i see. And i have 2 albums worth of recorded music waiting.

Im looking to get back to realtime playing, with people, or just in my studio by myself.

The recording thing is why i want the Flextone-2 Amp...Because i record with a POD and that amp is a POD with a speaker really. And its nice sounding, looking, and its a REAL AMP... Laughing Laughing

I could just get a power amp and use my POD as the per..I have speakers, but its NOT the same to me. I LIKE AN AMP...even if i dont use it to record with. But thats one of the changes im gona make when i get my NEW setup going...Gona record a REAL AMP with a real guitar, real cord, real mic.... Laughing REALLY... Laughing Laughing Laughing

Theres about 4 Amps i would like to have. And there all rather cheap as far as Amps go. So this is good..Smile

A piece of useless info for you Dace... I used to make the 12AX7 tube (well the Europien equivilents CV492, and CV4004 ) when I worked for STC.
Wish I had the foresight to liberate a few samples back then as NOS (new old stock) for these is around $100 each!! LOL

Wanted this amp since it came out. ALLmost got one last year.
This Amp, A flextone-2-(redface), and the VibroChampXD, are kinda my dream come true amps.

Vox Valvetronix VT50 50W 1x12 Guitar Combo Amp
Good gear at great prices 58722410
The VOX Valvetronix VT50 is a 50W combo amp that gives you 22 amp models ranging from the latest high-gain types to hard-to-find boutique and vintage amps. The VOX VT50 amplifier also boasts a full complement of effects, allowing it to cover the needs of a wide variety of styles and performance techniques. The VOX Valvetronix includes 66 preset programs, including 22 song programs that simulate the guitar sounds of famous guitarists. Even beginning players can enjoy serious guitar sound right away.

The VOX Valve Reactor circuit is the key factor that separates Valvetronix amplifiers from other modeling amps. The 100% analog original power amp circuit actually has the same power amp circuit as a full-tube amp, using a 12AX7 miniature triode to reproduce a distinctive tube amp sound unattainable by digital technology. In other words, it replicates aspects that have an important influence on the sound of a tube amp, such as the power amp's class A/AB operation and the interaction of the power stage with the speaker. You get not only the response of the original amp's power amp circuitry, but also the power amp's distortion as well as the nuances and subjective sound pressure of a full-tube amp.

Yeah those Flextones are cool!
I like the 2 and the 3 (well I have the 3, which you've played through).
Quality gear.

I think the 2 is a lot better sounding than the first one (has better tube emulation).
The first one is good, but more for punk/metal.

There both rather RARE as the first spiders are...But the 1s are VERY hard to find...i have only seen ONE in my life, and it was new when it came out. 1s are rare...

The best spiders are the first ones, with the RED face...I had one right before i came online. got it in pawn for 200, and that was luck at the time because Digi-amps where new and high$ still! think ONLY line6 and yamaha had digi amps at that time. My Spider RAWKED! was 50 watt-1-12..SWEET amp!

Flextones are my FAVES...there just nice amps!

When I said that I didn't have an Amp suddenly one turned up !!!!!!

I basically forgot about one I still have tucked away. Its an old 70's amp and there are not many of these about. Nice Fender style speaker cloth too.

This is a Marlin 50 watt amp with Reverb and Chorus....pretty advanced for a 70's amp but its solid state.

Marlin was a brand name in the UK but I have found out that these were actually made by Hohner.....the same people who make Blues Harps !!! They also sometimes had the name Rockwood on.

Nice chorus I seem to remember and a good clean sound but the overdrive is not so good.

Still if you put my Blackstar Valve Extreme Distortion pedal through it it will sound really good.

I don't use it or need it at the moment......but its there if I do.

HOLY CRAP PETER! THAT IS A WONDERFUL AMP MAN!
I LOVE the "not-so-known" Amps of the 70s and 80s.

That is SO Pretty man!

A few years back when things starting going south, people were dumping there stuff at the flea markets....I found some GREAT amps for NOTHING! at that time. That is when i was selling gear on Ebay..RIGHT before i came online with my music.

MAN we sold SO much great gear on ebay...Thats before Ebay went to crap! It was SO fun, but i WISH i had that gear back..I posted alot of cool stuff at the Anubes (first site)....Some of those Amps were SO killer!

LOVE ya Amp Peter..SWEET! (Have you seen the Blackstar Amps)??

Yes....their amps are all made here in the UK. They now make HT amps which incorporate the pedal.

The Artisan amps are the BIZ though.....handwired and absolute top quality (and price)

This is the pedal I have.....built like a tank and sounds just as heavy....real warm valve overtones....more classic rock than metal.....but you can scoop out the mids for a metal sound too.

MARSHALL has a nice one out (Class5) handwired, class A , 5watts..VERY nice Amp.

Love your pedal Peter...Very cool man!

If i can get the FENDER RIG above going..Im gona use Zs Mod-RAT with the Boss-gate he sent me for dirty tones. Preety much made my mind up to get that rig going first. (200.00) is not alot. Hope i can get the RED ones i posted. And that i have a POD to record with, the line6 can wait awhile. Its gona be harder to find that Amp also. The Fenders i can just go down a buy..Smile

My music room LOL....its all pushed up one end of my bedroom in a kind of disorganised chaos. I have a job swinging round when I play guitar to make sure that I don't hit anything !!!!!!

Houses in the UK are much smaller than in the USA and mine is one of the smaller ones. Still at least I own it. Thats why I can't use amps or speakers due to the neighbours.....all done on headphones.....but I got the best AKG Studio phones like the BBC use.

The Blackstar pedal is superb for that warm valve sound.....down low it is great for blues or warm tones and cranked up a bit its pure classic rock or old school metal.Absolute magic for power chords.

For modern Metal I have a Boss Metal Zone which is more like the tones Z uses for Gotham Steel and also is good for lead work in a more modern style.

I also have a Digitech RP300 which has all the multi fx in including the wah foot pedal attached.

Also the Boss DD20 for looping and great delays and echoes.

These are my main pedals but I also use effects built into my mixing gear and all of my synths have their own built in effects as well.

That should give you a small idea about how much control I have for production......and that's all outside the computer.

ALL my analog music I use a Diditech RP 100....Did SO many things with that pedal.
Its funny, my friend danny got the 300, and it did not sound NEAR as good as the 100. Was strange. I know the Pedal FRONT TO BACK..Smile Does alot more than a POD, but i like the POD sounds WAY better overall. Digitech FX are SUPER good!

Well, it funny, i use the smallest room in my studio the most for recording..I can reach evrything from my chair, and it sounds the best. 7 by 12 foot room. Great foldback from the roof-pitch. Its steped up 8inchs higher than the mainroom because its built on a mountain.. Laughing but it makes for great viewing of the mainroom.

I need some better headphones. mine coast 5 bucks.. Laughing Paid a dollar for the ones i use in here.. Laughing
